Barbie Ferreira has announced that she is leaving HBO’s ‘Euphoria’


Barbie Ferreira is leaving “Euphoria.”

Ferreira, who plays Kat on the show, revealed the news on her Instagram Story on Wednesday, saying she won’t be returning to the HBO drama before its third season.

“After four years of getting to embody the most special and mysterious character Kat, I have to say a very tearful goodbye,” Ferreira wrote.

He continued, “I hope many of you see yourself in him as I did and that he gave you the joy of seeing his journey to the character he is today. I gave her all my care and love and I hope you feel it. I love you Katherine Hernandez.”

Sex-positive character Kat explores online sex work and in Season 1 of the show she begins a relationship with Ethan (played by Austin Abrams).

Following a hit Season 2, “Euphoria” has been renewed for a third season. It centers on Zendaya’s character Rue, a teenager living in suburban California who struggles with drugs and the loss of her father.
