The Blues have also been linked with a strange last-gasp swoop for PSG superstar Neymar.
Tottenham are eyeing Manchester City starlet Adedire Mebude and are again in talks with Leeds about Dan James, while Manchester United want to land Barcelona’s Sergino Dest. Ronaldo and Wan-Bissaka remain at Man United
Erik ten Hag has now claimed that deals for Antony and Martin Dubravka will end Manchester United’s summer spending spree.
In a press conference held ahead of Thursday’s Premier League trip to Leicester, the Dutchman refused to discuss his reunion with Ajax’s Brazilian winger because the paperwork was not yet complete.
“For this window, this will be the end,” Ten Hag said of United’s plans. “You always have to be alert at a top club. But we will go from September to January minimum with this team.
“In the offensive department we need to strengthen the squad. Offensive players tire more quickly. They need to run more with high intensity.
Ten Hag also confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo and Aaron Wan-Bissaka will both REMAIN at Old Trafford beyond the deadline.
Man United want Sergio Dest deal
Manchester United want to buy a new right-back before the transfer window closes, according to the latest reports.
Erik ten Hag has been busy of late, with Casemiro and Antony both signed up, and goalkeeper Martin Dubravka also on his way from Newcastle.
But he’s not done yet, with The Independent reporting that a new right-sided defender to compete with Diogo Dalot is next on the wish list, with Barcelona’s Sergino Dest seemingly considered the most viable option .
Barca seem keen to offload the USA international, but much will depend on United securing Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s exit amid interest from former clubs Crystal Palace and West Ham.
Aubameyang was injured in an armed robbery at his home
A worrying update on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who suffered a broken jaw after trying to defend his family in a terrifying armed robbery at his home in Barcelona.
The former Arsenal captain is said to have been hit in the face with an iron in front of his wife and children during the attempted robbery which took place in the early hours of Monday.
Our best wishes to Pierre for a speedy recovery.
Aubameyang’s injury is not expected to prove an obstacle to joining Chelsea before tomorrow night’s deadline, but an agreement between the clubs has yet to be reached with time running out fast.
Tottenham return to Dan James talks
Dan James at Tottenham has potential resurgence.
Spurs are again in talks with Leeds about the former Manchester United winger, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Tottenham want an initial loan deal for James with a buy option, but are said to face a battle from Premier League rivals for his signature.
Romano added that Spurs are not moving for Hakim Ziyech or Chelsea’s Yannick Carrasco at this time as they look for another wide option with Bryan Gil expected to be on loan at Valencia.
Arsenal are not in Mudryk’s conversation
Perhaps Brentford will be the Premier League club to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk after all.
Fabrizio Romano reports that they still want the Ukraine international, but added that talks with Shakhtar Donetsk are very complicated for obvious reasons.
He added that Arsenal had not yet moved forward with a potential move for Mudryk, having held discussions with the player on Monday.
Done deal! Wolves signed Kalajdzic
A confirmed transfer that will take you from the Premier League.
Wolves have now sealed their £15.4m deal for towering Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic.
The Austrian international, who stands 6ft 7in, has previously been linked with Manchester United but has penned a five-year deal at Molineux which includes an option for a further 12 months beyond that.
However, Kalajdzic will not play against managerless Bournemouth tonight.

PSG not entertaining Neymar with Chelsea links
Neymar to Chelsea is a particularly odd rumor as we head into the final 36 hours of this momentous summer transfer window.
According to CBS Sports, Paris Saint-Germain are currently treating such talk as just that – a rumour.
Ben Jacobs reports that there has been no direct contact between the clubs, with PSG not currently thinking of selling the Brazilian superstar.
Arsenal sack Danilo transfer warning
Arsenal have been warned that Palmeiras have no plans to sell midfielder Danilo before the transfer window closes on Thursday, written by Simon Collings.
Danilo has long-term interest from Arsenal and sources in Brazil claim the Gunners made fresh inquiries about him on Tuesday.
That has been returned by Palmeiras, with the Brazilian side only willing to sanction a sale today if his £86million release clause for foreign suitors is met.
Palmeiras are reluctant to sell now as they are currently competing to retain the Copa Libertadores. Danilo is admired by other clubs in Europe, not just Arsenal, with AC Milan also among those tracking him.
Arsenal could sign a midfielder before the transfer window closes as both Mohamed Elneny and Thomas Partey are currently injured.
